I grew up in San Jose, where, despite being surrounded by technology, I fell in love with journalism. My time was split between skateboarding through suburban geometry and learning how to pay attention to the world in ways that didn’t always fit neatly into formal categories. As a teenager, I published over a hundred pieces, which are published or recognized in the Bear Witness, Daily Pennsylvanian, Mercury News, and New York Times. Today, I continue writing in various places.
That early habit of moving between observation, writing, and physical space shapes how I think: less as a linear path and more as a set of overlapping ways of noticing what is happening.
I study physics and philosophy, politics, and economics at the University of Pennsylvania. I have spent time in robotics research at GRASP, building my last company {sjdkfsdnf scrambled letter font}, drafting bills and memos on internet and education policy for Anna G. Eshoo. I most recently was on the investment team at Red Glass Ventures.
I write about subtle social and technological patterns: constraints, institutional incentives, unique user behavior, and changes of mind that determine what survives the market.
Outside work, I like long walks, cities, and philosophy.
My longer-term goals are forming, but they orbit a few persistent desires: to help build systems that meaningfully expand what humans can do in the physical world, to develop unusually good judgment about technology, and to keep learning new things in research and its interactions with reality.
